Our Icelandic Horses

Æringi is our 2023 colt. He is very trusting and playful, and right now he’s running around the pasture using all five gaits.

Adam is a handsome, large, black horse with five gaits and a very easy-to-ride tölt. However, he is a very sensitive horse who does not handle rider changes very well, and therefore he participates in the fast rides as a guide horse.

Álfur was born here in 2012 and has developed into a very sweet and relaxed trail horse.
His calm, confident, and friendly nature makes him very popular among his riders. He is also always reliable on the beach, with a moderate temperament.
Álfur participates in our “Light Ride” with riders of all ages and treats his riders with relaxed trail rides.
He moves in three gaits.

Árroði was born here in 2015 and has grown into a very sweet and fast trail horse for experienced riders.
His endless, smooth tölt makes him very popular among his riders.
Árroði handles fast rides reliably and always does his best to please his riders. He is a very friendly horse with wonderfully comfortable gaits.
He does not participate in beach rides yet, but all the more enjoys giving his rider an unforgettable ride with plenty of tölt through the forest.

Baldur joined us in 2008 and, right from the start of his career as a trail horse, has proven to be an incredibly sweet, confident, and absolutely reliable horse. He has five gaits and loves to gallop through nature with his riders.
In 2010, Baldur participated in the IPZV Trainer C test and passed both dressage and signal riding excellently.
Due to his advanced age, he now only goes on forest rides with children.

Benjamin has been with us for several years and has had a large and steadily growing fan base from the beginning.
His particularly calm, friendly, and relaxed nature makes him a very popular trail horse here.
You can always count on Benjamin. His riders appreciate his very comfortable gaits, especially his sofa-like tölt which is also easy to sit, even for beginners.
Benjamin is a five-gaited horse on our “Light Tour” and treats both adults and children with unforgettable trail rides through the forest and along the beach.

Bersi has been with us since 2010 and has already taken many riders on fantastic rides through the woods and along the beach.
His reliability, friendliness, and energy make him a popular horse for fast rides.
On the beach, Bersi always wants to be right at the front, but he is always easy to handle and considerate of his rider.
Bersi has five gaits and always prefers the tölt.
Experienced riders have a lot of fun with him, whether it’s on lively rides through the beautiful Blåbjerg Plantage or a fast gallop on the beach.
In addition, Bersi is a fantastic mentor for our colt foals and young stallions, whom he raises in the pasture.

She is a natural tölt horse with very soft and comfortable gaits.
Her riders appreciate her balanced temperament, her fearlessness, and her absolute reliability.
Birna is a four-gaited horse on forest rides and giveses both children and adults unforgettable, fantastic rides featuring endless tölt.
In 2017, Birna gave us a wonderful filly, Minning fra Vestkysten.
She is currently with our stallion, Möttull frá Skruð. We expect a fantastic foal with plenty of tölt from her.

Bjalla came to us in 2007 as a young horse from poor conditions. She has developed into a medium-sized five-gaited horse with plenty of spirit.
Her rhythmic, comfortable tölt and her fast canter on the beach are particularly popular.
When ridden, she is sensitive and is therefore only ridden by experienced riders on the fast rides.
Due to an accident in the pasture, she has unfortunately lost an eye, but this does not bother her at all in everyday life or on outings.
Bjalla has many fans, whom she takes on fantastic rides with plenty of tölt through the beautiful terrain or on the beach.

Bleikka came to us in 2026, in foal to Dagfari from Sauðárkróki, and with her foal, Mýsla from Holtdorftal, by her side.
She is a beautiful reddish-brown mare with splash.

Blika is a lively and sensitive five-gaited horse with a rhythmic tölt, a beautiful trot, a light canter, and a fast rein-back. She moves confidently over the terrain and remains very calm in all situations. She has now retired and is enjoying her golden years in the pasture.

Dagfari—also affectionately known as Daggi—is one of the first horses from our own breeding program and came with us to Denmark.
From the very beginning, he proved to be a very calm, relaxed, and completely reliable horse. Daggi is a large, powerful five-gaited horse with very smooth gaits and plenty of tölt.
He leads our “Light Ride” in the forest with beginners and is always completely unfazed and reliable.
Daggi is the perfect teacher who always takes excellent care of his riders.

Dögg is not only incredibly beautiful and powerful, but also an absolutely sweet and reliable horse.
She has been with us since 2014 and has since proven to be a calm, confident, and very sweet five-gaited horse.
Dögg takes riders of all ages on unforgettable rides through the forest and along the beach. Due to her calm temperament, she participates in the “easy” rides, and with beginners she mostly rides in three gaits.
Experienced Icelandic horse riders will find tölt with her.
She is currently in foal to our stallion, Möttull frá Skruð. We expect a fantastic foal with plenty of tölt from her.

Eldlilja is a young reddish-brown mare with a star on her forehead and very elegant movements in all gaits. Next year, she is due to give birth to a foal by our stallion, Möttull frá Skruð.

Elgur was born here in 2012 and has grown into a large, powerful four-gaited horse with a very smooth, natural tölt and plenty of spirit.
When ridden, he is sensitive and prefers a consistent rider; he doesn’t care much for frequent changes of rider.
Elgur serves as a lead horse on our tours and has also participated in one of our riding courses.
His gaits, with their beautiful movements, do not rule out the possibility that he will compete in one tournament or another in the future.

He is a large, fast four-gaited horse with very comfortable gaits and a fantastic natural tölt.
His fans appreciate his good temperament, his fantastic gaits, and his friendly nature. No matter how fast the canter gets on the beach, Emil always remains manageable and listens to his rider.
Because of his size, even larger, adult riders have fun with him.
Emil participates in our fast-paced forest and beach rides, giving his riders unforgettable excursions at a brisk pace with a rhythmic tölt.

Fáni was born here in 2010 and has developed into a very fine and sensitive five-gaited horse with plenty of pace.
He is a very friendly horse who is up for anything and is always interested and trusting.
Fáni is Bente’s private horse; together, the two have already done well in competitions and also serve as guides on our tours.

Feila is a five-gaited horse, a chestnut mare with a white blaze on her forehead. She is the newest member of our trail riding group.
We still need a little time to get to know her better and introduce her.

Fifilla is a beautiful palomino/isabelline mare with plenty of spirit. After she had been trained as a riding horse, her strong temperament and beautiful presence earned her a permanent spot as a broodmare. She has already given birth to several beautiful foals here. She handles everything with great confidence and is a good mother.

Fló is a small, slender, and graceful five-gaited mare who is very cooperative in handling and under the saddle. Under the rider, she glides more than she walks. She has already competed in shows in the youngest class and a C-level test. Fló is well-suited as an easy-to-ride sport horse for children and young people, with very beautiful movements and rhythmic, well-separated gaits. Due to her excellent qualities, she is used as a broodmare.

Friða is an elegant five-gaited horse with a lightning-fast canter. Since she was fully trained as a riding horse, she has been a regular part of our breeding program and has already given us a number of beautiful foals.

Frostrós—also affectionately called Rosi—has been with us for a very long time and found her new owner in 2023, with whom she enjoys fantastic rides and does varied groundwork. Every now and then, she is also dressed up as a unicorn.
With us, she takes part in gentle forest rides with children and light-weight adults and rides in three gaits with beginners.
Experienced Icelandic horse riders will find tölt with her, but Rosi is also very comfortable at a trot.
She is an absolutely reliable, safe, and friendly horse who always gives her riders fantastic rides.

Fylgja came to us as a yearling in 2015 and has developed into a lovely five-gaited horse with a calm temperament.
She serves as a guide on our rides. Fylgja usually prefers tölt and is very comfortable to ride.
Next year, she is due to give birth to a foal by our stallion, Möttull frá Skruð.

Fönix is an expressive stallion with a natural aptitude for the five-gait. He is a former licensing winner and has enjoyed great success in advanced five-gait tests.
His beautiful trot and relaxed tölt are not only a joy to watch but also a delight to ride. He is a true master on the oval arena and also enjoys relaxed outdoor rides.
Fönix gets to enjoy his life as a leisure horse with us and may occasionally participate in our riding courses with experienced riders.

Galdur kam 2009 als AbsetzGaldur came to us as a weaned foal in 2009 and has developed into an absolutely safe, reliable, and friendly horse.
He is always the first to head out to the pasture and looks forward every day to taking his riders on lovely rides through the forest or down to the beach.
Galdur is large and powerful, making him a horse for almost any rider. He has a moderate temperament and rides in three gaits on our “Light Ride.”

Gná was born here in 2013 and has developed into a fast, friendly, and sensitive four-gaited horse.
She participates in all fast rides and thus moves mostly at a trot.
Gná is a horse for experienced, sensitive riders. She needs a sense of security while riding and has difficulty handling it if you hold on too tightly or cling to her.
Gná has many fans who appreciate her sensitive nature and have fun with her on a fast gallop on the beach or on a ride through the beautiful Blåbjerg Plantage.

Gjöf is a five-gaited horse, a reddish-brown piebald mare with blue eyes. She is quite sensitive when ridden and does not like frequent changes of rider, but she loves children.
She is Lara’s private horse and is currently expecting a foal by Áll frá Sauðárkróki.
In the future, we can imagine her participating in one or another “Traekketur” or trail ride with children.

Hilling is a five-gaited horse with a comfortable tölt and a calm temperament. She handles all “Light rides” without any problems and is both confident and fearless.
Hilling is a fantastic horse for slightly more experienced riders who want to ride at a leisurely pace.

Hnýsa is an adorable young mare with a blue eye and a white spot on her forehead. She has completed her training as a riding horse and is already participating in rides as a guide horse. So far, she has proven to be very fearless and reliable, and she is sure to become a fantastic horse that both young people and adults will greatly enjoy.

Hnokki is a very sensitive and spirited four-and-a-half-gaited horse with previously spectacular, high-swinging movements. He is a horse suited for only one woman, who will go through fire and water for his rider if he trusts her, but who is impossible to ride for many other riders. He is certainly completely fearless, but forgives no mistakes on the rider’s part. After a great sporting career, Hnokki is a very sensitive and spirited four-and-a-half-gaited horse and now enjoys his life as a retiree.

Hríma is a large five-gaited horse with a fairly calm temperament, clearly defined gaits, and clean, expansive movements. Since she broke a leg, her movements lack a bit of height. She is very popular among our riding guests because of her reliability, rideability, and pleasant movements. She is now enjoying her well-deserved retirement in the pasture.

Hrímnir was born here in 2014 and has grown into a large, friendly, and confident horse with a calm temperament.
He is an absolutely reliable companion on the fast rides and offers riders who have previously ridden our “Light Ride” and now want to try a faster ride unforgettable excursions through the forest and down to the beach.
Hrímnír is a five-gaited horse who uses four gaits on the rides and offers plenty of tölt.
He has many fans who greatly appreciate his friendly nature, reliability, and calm demeanor.

Hugi came to us as a foal in 2009 and has grown into a large, powerful, and very beautiful five-gaited horse who is always completely safe and reliable.
He is our calmest horse and safely guides all beginners on the “Light Tour” through the forest and down to the beach.
Hugi always prefers the tölt, which is very comfortable and makes it easy for beginners to ride him.
He doesn’t let anything faze him and forgives almost any rider’s mistake. Hugi has many fans who greatly appreciate his loving and relaxed nature.

Kiljan has been with us for several years and participates in the fast rides; currently, he also often serves as a guide horse on the beach rides.
He is a large, powerful, and fast five-gaited horse with plenty of tölt.
Kiljan is confident and fearless; he loves to gallop across the beach with experienced riders—a sensation as if you were flying.
Kiljan is fast and strong, making him a riding horse for teenagers or adults. His fans love his reliability and speed.

Kjartan came to us as a weaned foal in 2009 and has grown into a large and powerful four-gaited horse.
He joins us on our fast-paced trail rides and is always confident and fearless.
A few years ago, one of his eyes had to be removed due to an injury, but Kjartan isn’t affected by it and manages just fine with only one eye.
He mostly moves in a three-beat gait and always gives his riders fantastic rides at a fast pace through the beautiful Blåbjerg Plantation.
Kjartan always radiates peace and is very balanced, making him the ideal companion horse for working with young horses.

Kristó is a huge bay four-gaited gelding who is excellent in the terrain but truly excels on the oval track. He is an experienced competition horse.

Kvika has been with us for a while and participates in our “Light” rides with riders of all ages.
She is always super sweet and moves nicely with the group.
Kvika has five gaits and enjoys tölting a lot, which makes her very comfortable for beginners or inexperienced riders.
Her riders appreciate her calm nature and her comfortable gaits.
In 2024, Kvika gave us a colt.

Ljónslöpp is an elegant dun mare with a long mane, and she moves with five gaits in the pasture.

Lukka came to us in 2024 from a riding school and has developed into a fast horse for experienced (Icelandic) riders.
Due to her rather slender build, Lukka is ridden by young people and lightweight adults.
Lukka is a five-gaited horse with plenty of tölt, and her riders appreciate her comfortable gaits, her fast canter, and her sensitive temperament.
She participates in all fast forest rides, our tölt ride, and beach rides.
Lukka thrives best with riders who are confident and can also yield while riding.

Lysa moved here with us and has therefore been with us from the very beginning.
She can perform all four gaits, but for tölt she requires an experienced Icelandic horse rider.
Lysa was a part of our fast beach horses for a long time, but due to her advanced age, she now rides our “Light Tour” through the forest with the children.
Lysa is absolutely reliable, sweet, and safe! She knows her job and always stays with the group.
She has lots of little fans and enjoys pleasant rides through the beautiful Blåbjerg Plantation.

Mimir is an elegant, large, bay young gelding who is now beginning his training as a riding horse.

Minning is a very sweet, easy-to-ride mare with a very soft tölt. She takes after her mother, Birna, and will make a fantastic trail horse.
She has completed her training as a riding horse and is already participating in the excursions as a guide.

Molda is one of our most popular children’s horses—a horse you can always count on!
She is always safe and reliable, a very calm and relaxed horse who has already given many riders unforgettable rides through the forest and down to the beach.
This beautiful five-gaited mare is the mother of some of our most beautiful foals.
She enjoys her well-deserved retirement in the pasture and looks forward to occasional rides in the countryside with youngest riders.

Möttull is an expressive elite four-gaited stallion with excellent movements and a loving temperament.
He always gives his best for his rider, is a pleasure to ride, and has a good temperament. Möttull is with us as a breeding stallion and behaves like a true gentleman toward his mares. We expect more fantastic, easy-to-ride foals with plenty of tölt from him.
Bente hopes to achieve even more successes in competitions with him.

Mýsla came to us with her mother, Bleikka frá Brekknakoti, in 2026 and is enjoying her youth in the pasture with the other foals.
She belongs to Lara and is destined to be her future riding horse, but is also of interest for our breeding program.
Mýsla is a mouse-colored mare with splash and a cream gene.

Ósk is a small, lively, and fast five-gaited horse with large, flowing movements and a flying canter. Unfortunately, she is sometimes a bit “cheeky” and likes to go faster than the rider. She has competed in five-gait and tölt tests.

Pjatla was born here in 2015 and has been participating in fast-paced trail rides with experienced riders since this year.
She is a four-gaited horse with a good temperament, but currently still rides in three gaits on the trails.
Pjatla is a very gentle and refined horse to ride, proving to be fearless and reliable.
We expect that she will participate in all the fast rides as a wonderful horse.

Sandri is our last “veteran”; we acquired him along with the farm in 2007.
He is a small but lively five-gaited horse with a rhythmic tölt, a good trot, and an easy-to-ride canter.
Sandri sometimes has a mind of his own, but he is also very steady and reliable.
Due to his size (small) and advanced age, he does not carry large riders and enjoys giving children a lovely ride in the countryside.

Secret joined us in 2017 and participates in the fast-paced rides.
She is a four-gaited horse with a good temperament who mainly moves in a three-gaited rhythm during rides.
Experienced Icelandic horse riders will find tölt with her.
Secret is large and powerful and proves herself on rides as a safe and reliable horse.
Her riders appreciate her friendly nature and her fearlessness.
Secret loves to take her riders through Blåbjerg Plantage and down to the beach, where she’s always right at the front in the canter.

Sif was born here in 2014 and has developed into a very friendly five-gaited horse with plenty of tölt.
She is soft in the mouth and a pleasure to ride, and her gaits are incredibly comfortable.
Sif has a good temperament and handles fast rides without any problems, while also being one of the safest and most reliable horses.
Her riders enjoy the beautiful rides through the forest and down to the beach.

Silla is a very sensitive and lively five-gaited horse who has already won the German Junior Championship in the children’s class. She was the perfect school horse for skilled riders and a pleasure to ride. Due to an old tendon injury, she can no longer be ridden and is now enjoying her life in retirement.

Skolli has been with us for many years. He is a slender five-gaited horse with a calm temperament and plenty of tölt and pace. He is reliable and well-behaved on “light rides” with children and younger riders.
Skolli enjoys relaxed rides through the forest and down to the beach.

Snafs is a very large, sweet reddish-brown young gelding who has begun his training as a riding horse.

Sokki is a young horse and enjoys being out to pasture.
He will soon begin his training as a riding horse.

Sprenging is a very independent reddish-brown piebald mare currently being trained as a riding horse.

Stjörnunótt was born here in 2012 and has developed into an absolutely safe and reliable horse with a calm to moderate temperament.
She is a four-gaited horse who trots well with experienced Icelandic horse riders and rides in three-gait with beginners.
Stjörnunótt participates in the “light rides” through the forest and is always very popular among her riders.
A fantastic horse, both for beginners and experienced riders.

Svana is an elegant and beautiful red mare who is mainly ridden as a trail horse on the beach. She is a five-gaited mare who prefers the trot. With the right guidance from an experienced Icelandic horse rider, she has a very comfortable tölt.
Svana is currently in foal to our stallion, and we are hoping for a beautiful foal from her.

Svingla is a young, beautiful isabell mare with blue eyes who is very curious about people and always has fun ideas. She demonstrates all five gaits in the pasture.

Tilberi is a handsome young gelding who has already completed his training as a riding horse. So far, he has shown five gaits, with an easy-to-ride tölt and pleasant basic gaits. He moves confidently and unflinchingly around in the forest. Currently, we expect that Tilberi will develop into a friendly horse for the “light ride”.

Tindra is a small, lively little raceball. No tölt has yet been discovered in her. Due to her age, Tindra now mostly rides on calm trips with smaller riders. If the rider has a gentle hand, she is a sweet and reliable horse that one can have a lot of fun with. Towards a hard rider, she usually successfully resists.

Tjaldari is a beautiful, young reddish-brown gray, who has started his training as a riding horse and proves to be sensitive.

Töfradís was born with us in 2017 and has developed into an elegant and confident young mare with five gaits in the special color buckskin.
Next year she will give birth to a foal from our stallion, Möttull frá Skruð.

Undrun is a very sweet mare with five gaits, who is very popular because of her pleasant tölt and her friendly character. She reliably manages the ‘light-ride’ and is always very sweet towards her rider; she wants to give her rider a lovely ride and show him the forest and the beach.
A horse that always wants to please.

Þorinn is a smaller brown dun gelding. What he lacks in size, he compensates for with his curiosity.
He has begun his training as a riding horse.

Þrumufleygur is a beautiful, dark reddish-brown spotted gelding who has completed his training as a riding horse. He is a five-gaited horse with plenty of tölt and a good temperament. He needs a confident rider. At the moment, he participates in tours as a guide horse.

Vordis is a lively reddish-brown spotted mare who moves in five gaits on fast rides in the forest and on the beach. Her sparkling temperament promises lots of fun for experienced riders. She has a very comfortable tölt and a fast gallop. Vordis is a sensitive horse who needs a confident (Icelandic) rider with a gentle hand.
